What is CTR?

CTR optimization is important because user interaction is a crucial ranking signal for Google. The higher the interest in an article or website, the better the search results can be. For Google, clicks are a positive sign as they indicate engagement with the site. Therefore, the site clearly offers added value.

What is CTR Manipulation?

CTR manipulation (or SEO manipulation) occurs when clicks for a search result to a specific website are created using bots (technical or "human bots"). This can be a positive measure (increasing your visibility) or used for negative SEO (clicking off a result or clicking a result for negative statements). Other ways to optimize click-through rates include:

However, CTR manipulations can still help improve a ranking. The basis for manipulation is, of course, that you first get Google to index the page. If a domain is on page 2 in the results, targeted manipulation can bring the domain into the top 10. There, it must then prove itself. If the site is good, it will stabilize, and manipulation is no longer necessary.
